Which preparatory work needs to be foreseen for my internet connection when I'm building or renovating

Ask for a Smarttube installation to your electrician.  A Smarttube this is a cable certified by Proximus. Your electrician can take care of this when he does the electrical works.

You can contact Proximus  to have your home connected to their network. Make sure to have an appointment on time (you can contact Proximus via 0800 55 800) so that the connection can be done at the same time as your water and electricity are connected.

You will have to be present during the installation and you will need to make sure that:

  • The Proximus cable can be installed from the building line right up to the place of the connection point: install a hard, smooth-walled PVC conduit for future cables. The conduit should be 50 mm in diameter, have a pull cord and be laid in a 60-cm-deep trench, in a straight line and perpendicular to the building line.
  • You provide a wooden mounting board of at least 50 x 50 cm for the installation of the connection point in an easily accessible room, close to the location from which the connection pipes depart towards the other rooms.
  • Your provide two 230 V electric outlets.
